What I should Learn from MJ

though it may be late to write about the death of the King of Pop, I still want to share what I should learn from him.

as seen from the sincere and deep condolences that his fans show in the funeral ceremony, Michael trully is a person who has transferred love; the ultimate positive energy to many people in the world.  He ain’t my brother nor my acquintance but when he left, my heart sank quite deeply. that my friend, is more than because of the magic of his songs but his very honesty and sincerity touch our heart from the very inside.

he shares the good things of his life.

that’s what I should learn from him. He shares the good things in his life.

and I do believe everyone of us could do the same. we dont have to be as billionaire as he is, just see around and try to not hurting people in your surrounding by the small things of yours; body language, words, even mind.

MJ may be had never taught that he has been dearly loved by million of people.

his caring and compassion makes him more human.

laskar Pelangi : Ini novelnya

ok, after my struggle to get da dream ticket and da inspiring film that i watched, now let me share my Opinion about da novel.

1. chandra prana

2. Syahdan wahyudi

3. Alpino

4. Iwan

5. Ahmad fajri

6. Andrea hirata

7. Hartati

8. Rojali

9. A Kiong aka Chau Cin Kiong

10…………………..

Anggota Laskar Pelangi

tokoh yang bernama lintang itu sepertinya hanya andre yang tahu yang mana diantara ke sepuluh orang tersebut yang dimaksud dengan Lintang, as none of the 9 persons plus ibu Muslimah tahu yang mana yang dimaksud dengan tokoh Lintang.  jika memang tokoh lintang itu ada sayang sekali sampai semua isi kelas tidak ada yang ingat betapa besar jasa lintang untuk sekolah mereka seperti yang digambarkan dalam novel dan movienya bahwa he was a superb student from pesisir yang membuat tim mereka menang cerdas cermat. even ibu muslimah cannot remember which of the ten or nine students was meant as Lintang. well i am not talking bout the name but the perfomance of this genious kid should have not been forgotten easily right? esp because he was soooo special, genious like andre had told us many times.

i also agree that this novel likes to use bahasa yang hiperbola. mungkin untuk menciptakan efek dramatis  dan ‘mengesankan’, tapi akhirnya sorry to say, jadi agak ganjil.  beberapa kritikus menyebutkan ketika  mahar menyanyikan tennesse waltz dan ketika bu muslimah menyanjung lintang dengan kata2: “superb, anak pesisir, superb”, it was too  much. bahwa kemungkinan-kemungkinan penyanjungan oleh bu muslimah itu pastilah ada, mungkin redaksinya lebih membumi dengan bahasa yang mereka kenal juga, well this school was not bilingual school in terms of english-speaking school or france-speaking school so the teacher did not need to use any term of those foreign languages with all respect.

Bahwa antara karya sastra tertulis dan visual pasti berbeda itu sudah jamak terjadi dan public dont mind about that i guess, as indonesians had read and watched more. so they could accept the difference.

tapi yah, people say art is meant for art. if this novel is meant as an art product then just enjoy it.  selama itu bisa buat orang terinspirasi ya silahkan saja, cuman lebih baik kita menjual true story if IT IS  A REAL ONE.

laskar pelangi : ini pilemnya

well i can say that it’s not exagerrating if i feel that the movie is touchy and inspiring. it reminds us how ungrateful sometimes we are for having all those stuff needed for our education, yet, we are still far from having committed to learning itself.

however,

honestly, adegan anak2 ke dukun seberang pulau itu menurutku terlalu dibuat2. not natural, apa emang bener ya laskar pelangi asli did that for real.

tapi perjuangan dapetin tiket agak2 lumayanlah soalnya aku bisa nonton bareng bang andrea hirata, sultan, “mahar”, ‘ikal’, ‘lintang’ kru pilem termasuk sutrada n produser…hehehehe

MY STRUGGLE FOR LASKAR PELANGI

bis tu flew to Amplas to buy some tickets for Laskar Pelangi.

No parking area was attended then i must have to ‘go down’ to the basement to park my motorcycle. it was dark, only dim of light. the area was attended by two parking attendants, trus aku tanya; mas jam berapa bukanya?

mas park: jam 10 mbaak

akyu: trus kalau 21 jam berapa?

mas park: jam setengah 11.

then i took a glance at my watch: still 09.30. udah curiga aja banyak orang depan amplaz yang masih tutup jadi aku parkir aja si cimot trus naik masuk mall dari basement.

i saw some teenagers, i dunno their names, tapi langsung aja ku tanya “mas mau nonton lasykar ya?”

teenagers: iya mbak.

but they just waited there, in a place where i could not have enouh oxygent for my small nose. then i just decided to walk on entering the mall. buseeeet ini pertama kalinya masuk mall gelap hanya ada beberapa karyawan yang sedang morning briefing. i just walked on and voila! an elevator yang belum nyala, jadi gue naik tangga itu. pake disalip ama dua cewek berkerudung. ok deh.

then i walked and walked. only little light

gue naik ke lantai 1 trus lt 2 dan pas mau ke lt 3 elevatornya dikasih rantai kuning. abis tengak-tengok kanan kiri celingukan gak jelas i just trespassed the yellow chain and take the stairs to lt 3 where i would buy the dream tickets hee hee hee. ada beberapa mahluk si tapi dikit. trus begitu dah sampai ujung ketemu ama semacam sekuriti gitu. then i greeted him. “pak, buka jam berapa nih  21? (pura-pura gak tahu)”

akyu: mau nonton laskar nih pak

twe weeenngg,!!!!!!!!! nyut nyut nyut………….. i imagined a long line of ticket buyers. so i flew, not walked. oh ternyata cuman ada 5 orang pemuda tanggung termasuk cewek berjilbab yang nyelip gue tadi.

pintu 21 was still closed. two of boys were cast away by a security. wah mereka disuruh keluar dulu nunggu. aku cuman liatin ajah, tapi lagi2 sok akrabnya muncul; mau nonton LP ya mas?

mas2: iya mbak, mbaknya?

akyu: iya, sama.

tapi perbincanganku gak lama. soalnya mereka keburu diusir. tinggallah aku dengan dua cewek penyalipku.

“mau nonton LP ya mbak?” (buset berapa kali gue kudu ngomong retorik gini hari itu)

mereka; iya, ibuk mau nonton juga ( ya Alloh gue dipanggil ibu heheheh, tua kali mukaku ini!!!)

gue/ibuk: iya sih, udah kita disini aja, jgn mau disuruh pergi.

Barock: “mbak keluar dulu silahkan” (sambil nunjuk pintu keluar, enak aja gak tahu dia perjuangan gue mendaki beberapa lantai meski gue lagi gak puasa, tapi pls deh capek tahu pak!!, emang situ mau gendong ane turun? kalau ente mau , ane yang kagak bakalan mau heu heu heu heu heu)

aku; kenapa pak, kan kita berdiri aja disini

Barock: ya gak boleh! ini kan belum buka, udah mbaknya keluar dulu aja (enak aja, disuruh nunggu di t4 non oxigen gitu)

Aku; ndak mau ah pak, saya ke atas aja.

“iya mbak setuju (heheheeh gak panggil ibuk lagi–aku), kami beliin dua ya”

“iya tenang, aku beliin 5 ntar kalau kalian duluan”

“ok…..”

wes ewes ewes ewes……. blah blah blah blah

tapi semua orang udah pasang kuda-kuda, kaki kanan di depan badan dicondongkan naaaahhh, begitu lampu idup semua orang langsung lari turun tangga. ngadep pintu kacanya 21.

sesuai rencana, aku bersebrangan ma lila dan laras (wes tahu namanya!).

buset dah depanku mas-mas GEDEEE BANGET badannya banyak lagi. wahh tuhann jangan biarkan mereka mengambil jatahku.

trus akhirnya setelah dibentak2 ma sekuritas karena byk yang gak tertib dibukalah pintu pertama jre jeeeeeeennnng !!! seperti sudah diramalkan sebelumnya perlombaaan lari ngepot pun terjadi. gedubrak gedubruk.  trus giliran pintuku waaaaaaaaaaa nyerah deh, aku jadi ‘agak terbelakang” hehehehe. sikut sana sikut sini akhirnya bisa berdiri tegak.

sekitar 2 menit lila datang, mbak luluk udah gak usah antri, kita dah paling depan.

trus kita jadi buat persekutuan movie akhirnya tukar2 an nomor hp dan buat movie brotherhood, whe heheheh.

What the H***** are They thinkin’ about

i wonder why Malaysian Government never think that what they have done to Indonesia for the last 5-10 years could jeopardize the two countries mutual relation intertwined for years.

starting from claiming Batik (indonesian traditional cloth) as their own local clothing, thus claiming the rights to produce it to stealing folk song of Indonesia; rasa sayange.

so they THOUGHT rasa sayange belongs to them? it couldnt be more ridiculous than this. from the pronunciation, dialect, Maluku -from which this song came– is pole apart from malaysia. i meant, no single bit is the similarity. they should be ashamed!

then indonesian peoples might think that their government should have done something to protect the countries’ resources, i couldnt agree more, but phu—leeezzzz should we register EVERY bit of indonesia’s wealth? it is the Thief that should be mannered /taught.

it is probably because Malaysia could not confide in their own cultural resources that hopelessly steal its neighbour’s. what was in their mind? do they think that they are better than indonesia?  no matter how intelligent and rich, they are nobody but a lame thief. A respected and civilized country should have not done this painstaking conduct. it hurt and unrates other people. so far from being dignified country.

pursuit of happYness

Lately, after buying that machine i have a soft spot for  watching movie. just now i finish watching the one entitled pursuit of HappYness, based on true story of the unbelievably succesful stock broker who once was a homeless, juggling with his life with the only son who was just 5 years old.

Why Thomas Jefferson mentioned something about  pursuit of happiness in the declaration, probably because we must run to reach the happiness or it might never exist. absolutely the lattest idea steming from pessimistic person. however we might be bothered as the definition of happines in our mind could be influenced by the ‘definition’ and the ‘criteria’ of happiness of somebody around.

thus, are we possibly trapped by other people’s dream of happiness??

but the movie with Will Smith intelligently acting as the main character underlines that the happiness he and his son pursue is actually the very basic kind of happiness; decent home base and meal though he eventually end up as a new tycoon.

seeing this movie, though it is based on the very real story could make me think that life is full of magical events. for a while we must live with the ‘burden’ till we could discover the key to later on open the multi-layered doors of happiness.

ridiculously, though umpteenth of time i watch ‘inspiring’ movies, i once was moved and after that earth calling; go back as lazy bone …again.

well, at least i should remember this from da movie:

if you want something, you run for it. period.

ORHAN PAMUK

i just finish reading novel written by Orhan Pamuk entitled; My name is Red, or in original language it is benim Kirmizi.

this novel is awsome, it has many characters and the writer told the story from each character’s feeling and point of view. thus, do not imagine that you will read the whole story as if someone detached from it knew everything and told u the story. it is like we are talking to each character as the characters  are TALKING to us.

‘My name is Red”, won the noble prize for literature in 2006 . the topic alone is unique and attracting; it was about assassination of Sultan’s illustrators in Turky done by one of them who was afraid of the foreign influence over their original arts and literatures. the details are there. It is illustrating how western and eastern culture collided and took its innocent tolls.

yet, it needs patience to read this thick novel as it is very thick and also demands us to think, to digest any clue leading to revealing the murder. besides, inside the main story you will read many other parables which i am sure i am not familiar with.

and another good news is that the writer is a bold man ! :) )) hip hip hurray, hee  hee hee hee  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orhan_Pamuk

gw mau ngefanz ma dia ah

peradaban modern

having read a book written by Larry Gornick I understand that the ‘modern’ civilization is built through a -never-ending war, pathetic but true. starting from Inca being colonized and ‘rapped’ by Spain to indonesia vs netherland.

the way the modern civilization is made is somehow ironical as modern civilization should have been carried out by modern people who should have chosen more human methods inducing the modernity. some wars wich still appear till now i think could be seen as the prolonged wars or the continuation of the old-age wars, thus sometimes the reason lies behind the wars is similar to the ancient wars, only probably it is neatly hidden.

then if the reasons are just the same as the ancient’s i wonder if the wars could ever be stopped?

Why only few women become leader?

Why only few women become a leader?

This question stings me lately, most probably triggered by an article of my subscribed paper.

Anyway, indeed this one is a good question, why only few women become a leader despite their feminine traits, motherly personal touch, and intelligence!! Why?

I would presume it stems from two basic sources; external and internal ones. Thousands of reasons impede women to be a leader such as patriarchal culture seeing woman is weaker than man both in physical and mental area.

My view; it MIGHT be true, in fact, women live much longer than men in addition to having ability to conceive and deliver baby which needs massive energy and strong muscles (imagine that you need to bring your infant inside your body for 9 months, whenever and wherever u go).

women also have their period regularly that slowly decrease their calcium mass of their bones; probably this explains why they mostly suffered from osteoporosis.

This cultural view results in many effects, a woman then should be overly protected as she is too weak to protect herself; then, a woman is not encouraged to be a leader as she herself cannot afford to control her own emotion – moreover her men later on.

Nevertheless, what woman should bother instead of the external view is actually ‘the nature’ of woman. Well, it may sound weird as the nature of someone could not be easily modified, but once she could realize that ‘something wrong’ is ingrained in her mind, it would be easier for her to change the attitude and her self perception.

Let me make it clear,Many women that I meet, truly look great and indeed they are REALLY great. They have brain, knowledge, individual uniqueness, talents, and such. They REALLY HAVE them all. Yet, when I assign them to do something which is CHALLENGING, most of them perceive it as TOO DIFFICULT TO DO; they will come up with both Reasons plus Excuses ( the latter occur a lot) and only a few end up as survivors. Another conclusion; they are not risk taker which is of importance to be a leader.

To make it worse, they will constantly see themselves as the persons who are incapable of doing something, of doing particular job; forever owing the feeling of being incapable. I wonder why they could keep that kinda feelin’ forever? Why not changing their mind? Why not making self suggestion that they CAN do EVERYTHING they want? Or why not TRYING to be a more capable human resource? There is not any reason of ‘feeling’ incapable.

Another conclusion; those women need a little bit more bravery.  Someone told me –which I hold it dear- that If you are able to take care of small things, then you will be ready for something bigger. So, if a woman refuses to do a job which is actually not as complicated and difficult as she may have thought, only because she is afraid of failure, then for real she is not ready or she will not be ready for doing something bigger; being a leader.

 So I thought.

About weblog

i’ve been using this blog for almost 4 months now. somehow it helps me to voice my ideas or feeling. though i consider my blog as private one i think i like to make it as sphere to discuss something that i can question.

but what bothers me sometimes is that some bloggers like to copy and paste the articles on internet, once i visited a blog which had good articles and spured many readers to give commentaries. nevertheless when i took a  look at the article, it was just copy-paste articles. then i was tempted to do so, then i did it. some commentaries indeed came but my heart was a little sink. i dont wanna do that again, it was just like stealing someone’s writing though i did not mean to give impression as if it were my writing ( i put the source), still it is not ethical.

i still keep the article though, only to remind me not to do that again.

i do understand that there is not any ‘original’ idea or whatsoever as we are influenced by other people, but at least we could respect other’s
